The United States Mint has started accepting orders for circulating quality 2013 William Howard Taft Presidential Dollars in roll, bag, and box quantities. This is the third release of the year for the Presidential $1 Coin Program and the twenty-seventh release for the program overall.
The obverse design of the coin features a portrait of President Taft designed by Barbara Fox and sculpted by Michael Gaudioso. The inscriptions surrounding the portrait include “William Howard Taft”, “In God We Trust”, “27th President”, and “1909-1913”. The reverse features a rendition of the Statue of Liberty designed by Don Everhart and intended to represent the concept of Liberty. The inscriptions include “United States of America” and the denomination “$1”. The date, mint mark, and motto “E Pluribus Unum” appear as incused edge lettering.
The circulating quality examples of the coin are available from the US Mint in a variety of packaging options. These include 25-coin rolls priced at $32.95, 100-coin bags priced at $111.95, 250-coin boxes priced at $275.95, and 500-coin boxes priced at $550.95. Each option is available containing coins from either the Philadelphia or Denver Mint, with the “P” or “D” mint mark, respectively.
The coin wrappers or canvas bags used as packaging for the coins includes an indication of the name of the President, the mint mark, and the face value of the contents.

The next coin within the program will feature Woodrow Wilson and is scheduled to be released in bag, roll, and box quantities in October 2013.
