The 2012 Silver Proof Set makes its debut on the latest weekly United States Mint numismatic sales report. Updated numbers are also available for the 2012 San Francisco Silver Eagle Set, which went on sale last week.
On June 4, the 2012 Silver Proof Set went on sale at the US Mint. This product includes 14 proof coins produced at the San Francisco Mint, with the dime, quarters, and half dollar struck in 90% silver. Through the reporting date of June 11, the Mint has recorded sales of 189,628 sets. This is about 20% lower than the debut number for the 2011 Silver Proof Set, which had reached sales of 209,367 after five days. The 2011-dated set continues to remain available for purchase from the Mint, and has now reached sales of 562,814.
On June 7, the 2012 San Francisco Silver Eagle Set went on sale. This special set will only be available to order for four weeks and contains proof and reverse proof Silver Eagles with the “S” mint mark. The US Mint will provide an updated sales total for this product each weekday around 3:00 PM. The sales figures reported so far have been 85,341 (June 8), 115,059 (June 11), and 121,304 (June 12).
The release of the special set has served to boost sales of the regular 2012 Proof Silver Eagle with the “W” mint mark. For the week, sales jumped by 27,301 units to reach 432,286.
The uncirculated version of the 2011-W Eliza Johnson First Spouse Gold Coin recently sold out. The latest sales figures included on the current report show a total of 2,915 units sold.

The first number column represents total sales through the reporting date, and the second number column represents the change in sales since the last report.
