Washington — The United States Mint will begin accepting orders for the 2019 American Liberty high relief silver medal (product code 19DB) on August 15 at noon ETD. The medal is priced at $99.95.
This unique medal is struck at the Philadelphia Mint in 2.5 ounces of 99.9 percent silver, measures two inches in diameter, and has a Matte finish.

The medal displays the same modern rendition of the iconic figure of Liberty as the 2019 American Liberty high relief gold coin, which also goes on sale on August 15. The obverse (heads) features Liberty with 13 rays of light emanating along her headdress, symbolizing the free and creative spirit of America’s people. Obverse inscriptions are LIBERTY and 2019.
The reverse (tails) features a bald eagle as it prepares to land. The reverse inscription is UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
Each medal is packaged in an elegant black lacquered hardwood presentation case and comes with the Mint’s customary certificate of authenticity.

The Mint has limited production of this special medal to 50,000 units. Orders will be limited to one medal per household.

According to the Mint’s website, the designer for the obverse is Richard Masters from the AIP, and the sculptor is Joseph Menna. For the reverse, the designer is Donna Weaver from the AIP, and the sculptor is Michael Gaudioso.
