The Perth Mint of Australia has started accepting orders for a set showcasing four stunning high relief designs. The proof quality one ounce 99.9% silver coins feature the Kangaroo, Koala, Kookaburra, and Lunar Series II Year of the Dragon Coins brought together within a Four Coin Collection.
Each of these coins has been released individually at earlier dates throughout the year. The high relief Australian Kangaroo Silver Coin was released in July with a limit of 20,000 coins for the individual format. The design features a kangaroo with a bush scene and windmill in the background.
The high relief Australian Koala Silver Coin was released in September with a limit of 10,000 pieces for the individual option. The design features an adult koala sleeping on the branch of a eucalyptus tree. Customers in the US were not able to order this individual option directly from the Perth Mint.
The high relief Australian Kookaburra Silver Coin was released in April. The design features a Kookaburra perched on a tree branch with gum leaves. The individual option had a limit of 10,000 and was not able to be ordered directly by US-based customers.
Lastly, the high relief Year of the Dragon Silver Coin was released in March. The popular design features a dragon with a symbolic pearl of wisdom and the Chinese character for dragon. The individual issue carried a limit of 7,500 and achieved a sell out.
The 2012 High Relief Silver Proof Four Coin Collection comes housed in a display case with illustrated shipper and numbered certificate of authenticity. No more than 1,000 of the four coin collections will be issued by the Perth Mint.
