Minted since 1986, the Gold Eagle has widespread appeal to collectors for both its composition and the beauty of its design. The obverse features the venerable design from the Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle produced a century ago, while the reverse showcases a family of eagles. The U.S. Mint has announced the release of the 2019 American Gold Eagle one-ounce Uncirculated coin. The coin, often referred to as the Burnished Gold Eagle, goes on sale June 13.
The 2019-W Burnished Gold Eagle includes the ‘W’ mint mark of the West Point Mint, which produces much of the U.S. bullion and commemorative coinage. It has a face value of $50.
