Bellingham, Washington — Stamp and Coin Place is pleased to announce the release of Lookzee, a smart, efficient, and easy way to image and share coins. Among Lookzee’s features are easy image acquisition, computer vision-assisted image handling, account creation with options for saving coin images, and in-app open chat forums to share and discuss coins.
Lookzee is the product of optical research and programming to leverage smartphone imaging capabilities, allowing users to create high-quality photos of the world’s most collected item, coins! Additionally, Lookzee’s software auto-crops these images, and allows users to rotate images with the swipe of a finger and adjust lighting with a tap.
Lookzee started as an application of in-house computer vision technology the company developed for an industrial coin-sorting machine (named “Numan”) that sorts coin by date, mintmark, color, and value. As it stands, the Lookzee app leverages technical knowledge of imaging to make it easier to image coins and share and save those images. The best is yet to come for Lookzee tech, however; we’re working on new functionality every day, towards future updates, to make it easier, more informative, and more enjoyable to collect coins using just your smartphone.
Stamp and Coin Place owner Tim Rathjen adds, “We are very proud of Lookzee, and we know it isn’t perfect. To quote Reid Hoffman, founder of LinkedIn, ‘If you are not embarrassed by the first version of your product, you’ve launched too late.’” Mr. Rathjen is a lifelong resident of Bellingham, Washington, and has owned the Stamp and Coin Place for 17 years.
Potential users can download Lookzee free from the Apple App Store.
Compatibility: Requires iOS 9.0 or later. Compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. 59.1 MB.

This is off-topic but I am in search of the mintage numbers for all Nexican Libertads from inception to date. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks for looking.
Thanks for your question, Dave Metta! Volume 2 of the Whitman Encyclopedia of Mexican Money, by Don and Lois Bailey, contains all Libertad mintages from inception through 2014. It also covers the silver onzas of 1949, 1978-1980, and 1989; silver bullion commemorative series; gold medallic bullion coinage; and platinum medallic/commemorative bullion coinage (and includes my personal favorite, the elusive mini-Libertad gold issues of 1987-88). It’s currently sold out on the publisher’s website, but it can be found at Abe.com, Amazon.com, and so forth.
For the 2015 and 2016 mintages, Gabriel Leif Bellman has contributed blog posts on the topic for our sister site, World Mint News Blog:
“Libertad Mintage Day Is Here!” (2015)
“Mexico: Libertad Mintages Break Numerous Records in 2016”
I hope that helps!

When is the Android version coming out, some of us are poor and can’t afford an iPhone. Just saying
Lookzee is still not on Apple’s app store…and hasn’t been all day. I don’t get this article…vaporware?
ok, sorry…found the app.
As you’ve mentioned in these comments, the Lookzee app seems to be hard to locate in the app store. We contacted Tim Rathjen, who provided us with a direct link: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/lookzee/id1188489862.
