Earlier this month, the Royal Canadian Mint had launched an extensive program of gold and silver collector coins featuring Looney Tunes characters. This included a set of eight $10 silver coins, a set of four $20 silver coins, a $20 Merrie Melodies silver coin, a 14 karat gold coin featuring Bugs Bunny and friends, and gold and silver kilo sized coins featuring the Looney Tunes characters with Bugs Bunny highlighted in selective colored enamel.
Because nothing says Canada like Bugs Bunny….I collect these…not this one.
I read somewhere that some guy from Canada worked at looney tunes. So I guess there is that. In all reality The Canadian Mint does not need any real reason to mint coins. They will just make up one.
Bugs Bunny, an American icon on a Canadian Coin. This is awesome. What’s next for the Royal Canadian mint? Perhaps they should commission a very special set of coins commemorating all of the American Presidents. Makes me proud to be a Canadian.
