How to submit tokens and medals for NGC certification

NGC recognizes dozens of references for U.S. and world tokens and medals.

Numismatic Guaranty Company (NGC) has certified more than half a million tokens and medals, including 240,000 U.S. tokens and medals and over 260,000 world tokens and medals. If you have tokens or medals to submit for NGC certification, please note that special submission instructions must be followed.

Submitting Tokens and Medals

To submit a token or medal, please provide an appropriate catalog number, when one is available. An attribution fee of $5 per token or medal applies to submissions that do not include complete catalog information. NGC recognizes dozens of catalogs for tokens and medals.

U.S. Tokens and Medals

This (1837) I Take the Responsibility token graded NGC AU-58 is an example of a Hard Times token. NGC attributed it as HT-71 according to the Early American, Hard Times, Merchant, and Trade tokens catalog system created by Russell Rulau. (This particular token is available in a Heritage Auctions sale in May 2023.)

World Tokens and Medals

This 1902 Gold Edward VII Coronation Medal graded NGC MS-62 is an example of a British Historical Medal. It is attributed as BHM-3737 according to the British Historical Medals reference by Laurence Brown. (This particular medal is part of a Heritage Auctions sale in May 2023.)
