The United States Mint has started accepting orders for numismatic bags, rolls, and boxes containing Grover Cleveland Presidential Dollars for his second term. Because Cleveland served as President in two nonconsecutive terms, he is recognized twice within the series.
The US Mint’s product offerings represent the only way for the public to obtain examples of the latest releases of the Presidential Dollar Program. In late 2011, the Treasury Department announced their decision to suspend production of the series for circulation as a cost savings measure. Starting in 2012, the US Mint would only produce the limited quantity of coins necessary to meet collector demand. These coins are available in various annual sets, as well as in bags, rolls, and boxes containing circulating quality coins.
The Grover Cleveland (second term) Presidential Dollar features a portrait of the President on the obverse designed and sculpted by Don Everhart. The inscriptions include the President’s name above and below the motto “In God We Trust”, “24th President”, “and the years of the term “1893-1897”. The reverse design features a rendition of the Statue of Liberty also designed by Don Everhart. Inscriptions include “United States of America” and the face value expressed as “$1”. The edge of each coin contains the motto “E Pluribus Unum”, the date, and mint mark.
Product offerings available from the US Mint include 25-coin rolls, 100-coin bags, 250-coin boxes, and 500-coin boxes from either the Philadelphia or Denver Mint. The packaging for the coins contains an the name of the President, the face value of the contents, and the mint mark.
Pricing is established at $32.95 for the 25-coin rolls, $111.95 for the 100-coin rolls, $275.95 for the 250-coin boxes, and $550.95 for the 500-coin boxes. A shipping and handling charge of $4.95 applies to each order. There is an additional charge of $7.95 is imposed for each 500-coin box ordered.
