If you’ve been keeping up with Kentucky Colonel and Whitman Publisher Dennis Tucker’s weekly column entitled “From the Colonel’s Desk,” then you will know that this week he is attending the 2021 American Numismatic Association World’s Fair of Money in Chicago — and he is on the hunt for some of the greatest finds the Bluegrass State has to offer.
Of particular note is a “Money Talks” presentation on Kentucky’s National Bank Notes by Tony Swicer, which Tucker mentioned in a July 23 column:
And a reminder: If you’d like to learn more about Kentucky’s National Bank Notes, and if you’ll be at the August 2021 American Numismatic Association World’s Fair of Money in Chicago, be sure to catch Tony Swicer’s “Money Talks” presentation. His program tells about “Assembling a Major Paper Money Collection: Kentucky National Banknotes.” It’s scheduled for Thursday, August 12, 2021, from 2:00 to 2:45 p.m. in room 6 of the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center.
Additionally, and as mentioned in his previous column, today is of particular significance in regard to Kentucky’s Civil War Era coinage as well:
If you’d like to learn more about Kentucky’s Civil War tokens and sutler tokens, and if you’ll be at the August 2021 American Numismatic Association World’s Fair of Money in Chicago, attend the general meeting of the Civil War Token Society. It’s scheduled for Thursday, August 12, 2021, from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. in room 4 of the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center. You can visit the CWTS online.
