The organizers of the London Coin Fair hosted the winter date of this popular venue on the 19th November in Bloomsbury, London. This greatly anticipated show on the London coin circuit is the largest in the UK with more than 600 visitors flocking through the doors of the conference centre of the well-known Central London hotel which has accommodated this event for the last three years.
Both British and European dealers participated in the show adding to the eclectic mix. With more than 70 plus specialist dealers on two floors ranging from ancient to modern, and dealers with everything in between showcasing some of the best examples of quality English and world coinage. Dealers of medals and banknotes were included for extra good measure and attraction, there was something for every collector and investor and in every price range. A particular emphasis was given to the bullion investor with several dealers showing off the latest gold and silver coins and bars from Canada, the U.S. and the U.K.
For the more serious numismatic investor, Baldwins, the noted Coin consultants in London conducted their “Autumn Argentum” auction on the upper floor with almost 620 going under the hammer.
Correspondents from Token Publishing UK, Krause Publications, and Coinupdate.com all paid a visit to the London Coin Fair. If you plan to be in London during the weekend of the 11th February 2012, it is highly recommended that you make a determined effort to attend and be prepared to add some extraordinary pieces to your collection.
