The Chicago Coin Club has announced that it will release a series of four medals to commemorate the organization’s 100th anniversary. All medals included in the series possess the dimensions 3.25” x 2.44” x 0.25” and are bi-directional Rotated Dies (ROT) oval medals. These medals are:
- Oval six-ounce copper medal. Mintage is limited to 250. Cost is $52 (with shipping included).
- Oval six-ounce enhanced copper medal (contains enhancements of gold and platinum). Mintage is limited to 50. Cost is $82 (with shipping included).
- Oval eight-ounce .999 silver medal. Mintage is limited to 25. Cost is $293 (with shipping and insurance included).
- Oval 13-ounce .999 gold medal. Pre-orders and price inquiries must be handled by Chicago Coin Company at 773-338-7787.
Enhanced copper medal.
The obverse of each medal features a landscape image of Chicago’s Clarence F. Buckingham fountain in Grant Park. Included is the inscription CHICAGO COIN CLUB, A CENTURY OF SHARING NUMISMATIC KNOWLEDGE and the years 1919 – 2019.
Each medal’s reverse depicts the downtown Chicago Water Tower that survived the Great Fire of 1871.
Interested Individuals Can Order a Chicago Coin Club 100th Anniversary Medal
Pre-paid orders will be accepted on a first-come-first-serve basis and can be placed in two ways.
Electronic payment: For Zelle transfer, visit here to see if your bank is part of the network. Your bank’s phone application must be on your smartphone and have “location” enabled.
The Club has registered with Zelle to receive payments.
Complete the “What is this for?” message field with “CCC MEDAL” and your full name and mailing address. You have 200 characters in the MESSAGE section of ZELLE to add your name and address. You will be notified instantly via email that your payment was sent. The Club will receive your payment typically within minutes. However, the first transaction made on the Zelle Network could take 2-3 days. Medals will be shipped after prepaid orders are received.
By U.S. Mail, orders can be sent to CCC PO BOX 2301 CHICAGO IL 60690. All orders must be accompanied by payment.
