Canada: Canadian wildlife and the mighty bison boldly feature on new large silver Proof collector coin

The Royal Canadian Mint has released new silver Proof coins which showcase one of the country’s most distinctive species of wildlife synonymous with the great outdoors and western prairies of the land known as the Great White North.

Designed by Claudio D’Angelo, the reverse side features a side-view portrait of two plains bison in their grassland habitat during the harsh winter months. The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt along with a background wave pattern representing a sense of movement, like wind sweeping across the landscape. The year of issue 2022 is seen above the Queen’s likeness and the denomination of 30 DOLLARS is placed underneath.
