Last week, Dennis Hengeveld previewed some of the most interesting coins going up for sale during the Stack’s Bowers “Rarities Night” at this year’s Spring Whitman Expo in Baltimore. The sale took place at 5 pm on March 31 in the Baltimore Convention Center and garnered high prices for a variety of interesting pieces, though a few fell short of expectations. We’ll revisit the coins discussed in our previous article and take a look at a couple of familiar rarities that realized significant sums.
Below are images of the coins accompanied by their lot number, grade, base price (if applicable), and the total realized by the item at auction. More detail on these and other coins offered in the sale can be found in Dennis Hengeveld’s March 25 preview article and in the online auction catalog provided by Stack’s Bowers Galleries.
