On November 27 at noon (ET), the United States Mint will be releasing the 2018 Block Island National Wildlife Refuge Quarter, Three-Coin Set (18AH). The set features Block Island, a migratory bird haven located off the coast of Rhode Island. Each set contains a Proof quarter from the San Francisco Mint, and two Uncirculated quarters from the Philadelphia and Denver mints, respectively. There is currently no mintage, product, or household order limit for the set. The set commemorating Block Island is the fifth and final to be issued in 2018 and the 45th to be included in the America the Beautiful Quarters Program overall.
The reverse design of each quarter shows a black-crowned night-heron flying over Cow Cove beach. Inscriptions include BLOCK ISLAND, RHODE ISLAND, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and the year 2018.
The obverse displays a 1932 restored portrait of George Washington by John Flanagan.
Each set of coins is held in a durable plastic card with an image of the park on the front, while a description of the park, along with a certificate of authenticity, are displayed on the back.
