The latest US Mint weekly sales report includes the debut numbers for the 2009 Zachary Taylor Presidential Dollar Rolls. Sales of the product began on November 19, 2009 and coincided with the official release of the coins into circulation. The US Mint recorded sales of 27,015 of the Philadelphia Mint rolls and 26,200 of the Denver Mint rolls.
The previous issue of the series featuring the James K. Polk Dollar remained on sale and saw figures rise to 37,313 and 36,270 for Philadlephia and Denver rolls, respectively.
Sales of gold coins remained relatively robust despite higher prices prompted by the rising price of gold. In the latest sales period, the 2009 Ultra High Relief Double Eagle sold 1,091 coins to bring the total to 105,953. The 2009 Proof Gold Buffalo added 3,107 coins to bring the total to 35,288. The available First Spouse Gold Coins added between 14 and 87 units across the various offerings.
