The latest weekly United States Mint numismatic product sales report includes the debut figures for the 2013 America the Beautiful Quarters Silver Proof Set. Elsewhere in the report, sales of the remaining 2012 Proof Gold Eagles saw a boost.
On January 8, 2013, the US Mint began sales of the 2013 America the Beautiful Quarters Silver Proof Set. Representing the first numismatic release of the year, this product contains 90% silver proof versions of this year's quarters featuring White Mountain National Forest, Perry's Victory International Peace Memorial, Great Basin National Park, Fort McHenry National Monument, and Mount Rushmore National Memorial. Through the reporting date of January 14, sales have reached 49,051 units. This comes in below the debut figures for the 2012-dated set, which had sold 61,181 units in the opening week.
The individual one ounce 2012 Proof Gold Eagle saw sales jump to 1,047 units for the week, nearly triple the amount of the last weekly period. Sales of the Proof Gold Eagle Four Coin Set came in at 208 units, up from 133 in the previous week. The increased sales levels come as the individual one-tenth ounce option has sold out, joining the sold out individual one-quarter ounce and one -half ounce options.
Some portions of the sales report are starting to look barren as 2011 and 2012-dated products continue to sell out. Collectors may want to take notice of the 2012 Native American Dollar products. The 500-coin boxes, 250-coin boxes, and 100-coin bags have all sold out, leaving only the 25-coin rolls available.
The complete US Mint numismatic product sales report appears below. Unless otherwise noted, the figures are compiled through January 14, 2013. The first number column represents total sales through the reporting date, and the second number column represents the change in sales since the last report. Products listed in bold make their debut on this report. Products with sales followed by an asterisk (*) are no longer available from the United States Mint. Currently available US Mint products can be found online at http://catalog.usmint.gov/

Please check the “S” mint National Park roll totals. Denali shows “0″ sold for the week.
yeah, that’s what the US Mint gave me. trying to get an updated number.
Also, the total sold and change from last week’s numbers for the Chaco Culture S rolls are identical to last week’s report.
Those sold out and the US Mint is not giving an updated number for this week. The report is based on the numbers the US Mint provides.
Ok, I just thought it might have been an error since the Volcanoes number was updated, and the “change from last week” number for Chaco was not updated to be 0.
I hope the 2012 limited edition silver set will hold on until the 2013 Proof Silver Eagles go on sale! I hope the US Mint will adjust that $62.95 price tag a bit?
Thank you for providing this. I look forward to it every week.
Does the mint consider it a sale when the order is placed? Or when the item has shipped?
I was under the impression it was the former considering the negative numbers I have seen in prior sales reports, but I’m second guessing that because of the 0 sales reported of the Denali S rolls.
The numbers reflect orders placed, less any cancellations or returns.
A new total for Denali S rolls was not provided. I am trying to get the number.
The Mint has provided me with the updated cumulative sales total for the Denali S Rolls of 13,712. This is an increase of 2,353 from the prior report.
Thanks Michael! It looks like all the AtB (S) quarters are close to the 1.4M number, except for the Denali, which isn’t far behind!
except for EL YUNQUE, which has a mintage of around 1.7 millions. And one could think that Denali will have less than 1.3 millions.
Yes, I explored that here: http://mintnewsblog.com/2013/01/revisiting-circulating-quality-2012-s-america-the-beautiful-quarters/
Based on the US Mint’s indicated initial production of 1.4 million, I think Denali will ultimately end up at that number too.
Dear Mr. Zielinski,
every tuesday I am looking forward to reading your latest sales report. Thank you very much for keeping us collectors up to date and for the work you do.
