US Mint Sales: 2009 Proof Gold Buffalo Sales Decline
The latest weekly sales report of United States Mint numismatic products, shows the continued overall slow pace of sales for available products. The currently available products primarily consist of 2009 dated coins and products. Once 2010 coins and products are released, the pace of customer purchases should see an upswing.
The pace of sales for gold coins showed particular weakness, amidst a decline in the price of gold and ahead of an anticipated pricing decrease occurring this week. The US Mint sold 421 of the 2009 Proof Gold Buffalo Coins. This is the second lowest weekly sales total since the coins went on sale. The available First Spouse Gold Coins sold a combined 240 coins. This compares to more than 700 coins sold in the previous week.
This week's report lists the debut sales figures for the 2010 Native American Dollar Rolls. The individual 25-coin rolls went on sale January 22, 2010. The US Mint sold 8,333 of the Philadelphia rolls and 8,446 of the Denver rolls.
