US Mint Sales: First Spouse Gold Coin Sales Slow
The latest weekly sales report of United States Mint products showed a decline in sales for nearly all products. This was understandable during the holiday shortened week, when collectors' attention may have been focused elsewhere.
The slow down was most prominent for the First Spouse Gold coins, which sold 113 coins across the available options. This compares to more than 500 coins sold in the prior week. Most surprising, the recently released Margaret Taylor First Spouse Coin actually showed negative net sales for the week, as presumably returns and order cancellations outnumbered new orders for the coins.
Other gold coins showed smaller gains. The Ultra High Relief Gold Coin added 1,384 to bring the total sales level to 112,065. These coins will only remain available for sale until December 31, 2009. The 2009 Proof Gold Buffalo coin added 522 to bring the total to 42,075.
Two products are included in the report which recently sold out. These are the 2009 Lincoln Cent Proof Set and the 2009 Kennedy Half Dollar Two Roll Set.
The full report of US Mint sales figures is presented below. Total sales for each product are compiled as of December 27, 2009. The first number column represents the total sales to date, and the second number column represents the change in sales since the last report.

The only place I know to get information on older releases would be old issues of Numismatic News.
