US Mint Sales Figures 10/11/09 – 2009 Mint Set Near 400,000

US Mint SalesThis sales report presents the initial data for several recently released US Mint products. The 2009 Mint Set, which contains a total of 36 coins and special 95% copper composition Lincoln Cents, showed sales of 392,007 since first going on sale October 1. The James K. Polk Presidential Dollar Coin Cover had reported sales of 20,863, after going on sale October 1. The Louis Braille Education Set had surprisingly low initial sales of 2,719 units after going on sale October 8.

Other interesting numbers to examine include the 2009 Ultra High Relief Double Eagle Gold Coin with 98,768 coins sold. This represents an increase of 1,321 over the prior reporting period. The First Spouse Gold Coins moved higher, particularly for the more recent issues, perhaps in anticipation of higher prices as gold continues its ascent.

The table below presents the full report of US Mint sales figures. Total sales for each product are compiled as of October 11, 2009.

I received my 2009 mint sets and opened one set and there was 19 coins in the denver set.has anyone else notified the mint about a packaging error they have made.the denver set had 5 presidential dollars in it along with the american native dollar.
    thanks

How is it even possible with the packaging? It only has five slots for dollar-size coins. Or are you saying that instead of the Native American dollar, there was a 5th Presidential dollar?

  3. Maybe there were two dollars stacked together??

Actually this is about the third report I have seen about packaging mistakes on the 2009 Mint Sets. Here’s a forum post with an image:
