US Mint Sales: Collectors Await New Product Releases
The latest weekly US Mint sales report shows lull in buying activity. In the past week, there were no new product releases to spur sales and recently released products have shown expected sales declines. Most collectors tend to order US Mint products soon after release, resulting in ebbing sales after the initial rush to buy.
The 2010 American Veterans Disabled for Life Silver Dollars sold a combined 33,476 coins. Added to the prior week's opening sales of 98,358, total sales have now reached 131,834, representing 37.7% of the maximum authorized mintage.
The remaining 2010-dated products also recorded sales increases smaller than the prior week. The 2010 Presidential Dollar Proof Set added 11,741 in sales, compared to the prior week's sales of 25,512. The Millard Fillmore Presidential Dollar Rolls added a combined 2,425, compared to the prior week's sales of 7,345. Similar patterns played out for the 2010 Native American Dollar Rolls and 2010 Kennedy Half Dollar Rolls.
Sales of the available numismatic gold coins declined from recent weeks. The recent increased buying activity accompanied a rise in the price of gold and culminated with a price increase for available products. The US Mint sold 384 of the 2009 Proof Gold Buffalo Coins, bringing the total sales to 48,396. Sales of 193 were recorded across all available First Spouse Gold Coins. The highest sales figure occurred for the proof version of the Anna Harrison First Spouse Coin.

The coins will be distributed through the US Mint’s network of authorized bullion purchasers. The AP’s currently distribute the US Mint’s other bullion coins like the Silver Eagle and Gold Eagle.
