The United States Mint plans to release their popular annual proof and uncirculated coin sets in July. Last year, these two products accounted for the highest unit sales out of all of the US Mint's numismatic product offerings.
2010 United States Mint Uncirculated Set
The 2010 Mint Set will include 14 coins each from the Philadelphia and Denver Mints. The coins included in the set will feature a special "satin finish" that the US Mint has used for coins included in the annual Mint Set and some other special sets since 2005.
Each set will include "P" and "D" mint marked coins for the five different 2010 America the Beautiful Quarters, the four different 2010 Presidential Dollars, the 2010 Lincoln Cent, 2010 Jefferson Nickel, 2010 Roosevelt Dime, 2010 Kennedy Half Dollar, and 2010 Native American Dollar. The coins are packaged in two separate folders, which contain the coins from each mint facility. The folders have an illustrated exterior and coin specification and design information inside.
The 2010 Mint Set will be priced at $31.95 each and is currently scheduled for release on July 15, 2010.
2010 United States Mint Proof Set
The 2010 Proof Set will include a total of 14 different coins struck at the San Francisco Mint. The coins included in this set will feature a high quality proof finish, created by striking each coin multiple times with specially prepared dies. The proof coins display mirrored background fields with frosted raised elements, creating a cameo appearance.
Each set will include proof coins bearing the "S" mint mark for the five 2010 quarters, four 2010 Presidential Dollars, Lincoln Cent, Jefferson Nickel, Roosevelt Dime, Kennedy Half Dollar, and Native American Dollar. The coins will be sealed in plastic lenses and packaged in an illustrated cardboard box with certificate of authenticity.
The 2010 Proof Set will be priced at $31.95 each and is scheduled for release on July 22, 2010.
