Today December 17, 2009, the United States Mint began sales of the 2009 Presidential $1 Coin & First Spouse Medal Set for Zachary Taylor and Margaret Taylor. This is the fifth and final release for the coin and medal sets this year.
The product features one Zachary Taylor Presidential Dollar and one Margaret Taylor Bronze Medal mounted onto a durable plastic card. The card is illustrated with their portraits on the front and includes issuance information on the back. The coin and medal sets are priced at $8.95 each, with no houshold ordering limits imposed.
The Zachary Taylor Dollar was designed and sculpted by Don Everhart. It represents the twlefth release in the ongoing Presidential Dollar coin series. The Margaret Taylor Bronze Medal is a duplicate of the Margaret Taylor First Spouse Coin, which is a one half ounce 24 karat gold coin offered by the United States Mint.
