US Mint Offers Virgin Islands Quarter Bags and Two Roll Sets

Virgin Islands Quarter Two Roll SetToday, September 28, 2009 at 12:00 Noon ET, sales of the US Virgin Islands Quarter bags and two roll sets will begin at the United States Mint. This coin represents the fifth quarter release of this year’s DC & US Territories Quarters Program.

The Virgin Islands Quarter reverse was designed and sculpted by Joseph Menna. It features the territory’s official bird, official flower, official motto, tyre palm trees, and an outline of the three main islands. The obverse of the coin bears the portrait of George Washington that has been used throughout the State Quarters and Territories Quarters programs.

The US Mint will offer 100-coin or 1000-coin bags of quarters from either the Philadelphia or Denver Mints. Each bag will denote the mint of origin and the dollar value of the contents. The 100-coin bags are priced at $32.95 and the 1000-coin bags are priced at $309.95 each.

Two roll sets will also be offered which include one 40-coin roll of coins from the Philadelphia Mint and one 40-coin roll of coins from the Denver Mint. The rolls will come in specially designed wrappers which indicate the design, mint mark, and face value of the contents. The two roll sets are priced at $32.95 each.
