The United States Mint has announced that they will feature the 2009 Ultra High Relief Double Eagle Gold Coin at the American Numismatic Association’s World’s Fair of Money. The event will be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center from August 5 – 9, 2009.
The same exhibit had been on display at the ANA World’s Fair of Money previously held in July 2008 in Baltimore. Subsequently, the display was exhibited at the United States Mint facility in Philadelphia. The exhibit features four separate museum like showcases showing the story of the coin from raw material to finished product.
US Mint Director Edmund Moy stated:
We want collectors who didn’t get the opportunity to visit the exhibit in Philadelphia or at last year’s ANA summer convention in Baltimore to see first-hand how we achieved Saint-Gaudens’ vision,” said United States Mint Director Ed Moy. “Our exhibit showcases the technological advances we have made to create bold, new, 21st century coins and medals.
The United States Mint will also have a limited number of products available for purchase at their booth. This includes the various 2009 Proof Sets, Louis Braille Commemorative Silver Dollars, 2009 Lincoln Cent Two Roll Sets, and 2009 Native American Dollar Rolls.
