On Tuesday, May 10, 2021, at 10:00 am EDT the art installation will be on display in the window of the Museum’s West Pavilion. The officers on the front of the coin will then be saluting 22,611 fallen officers whose names are engraved on the Memorial across the street.
The art structure is an exact replica of the U.S. Mint’s new commemorative coin, featuring a male and female officer saluting on the front and a folded American flag on the back. The replica measures 5.5’ in diameter, 5.25” thick, and took approximately 82,500 LEGO bricks to complete.
