The U.S. Mint has shared prices for several upcoming products containing collector versions of 2016’s 30th anniversary American Eagle one-ounce silver coins. Of the issues listed, only two — the American Eagle Silver Proof Coin and the Ronald Reagan Coin and Chronicles Set — have been assigned release dates at the time of this writing. The Proof Silver Eagle will be the Mint’s next release and is scheduled to launch on September 16; earlier this week, we learned that the Reagan Coin and Chronicles Set would debut on October 11.
|Product||2016 Retail Price|
|American Eagle One Ounce Silver Proof Coin||$53.95|
|American Eagle One Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coin||$44.95|
|United States Mint Congratulations Set||$54.95|
|United States Mint Uncirculated Dollar Coin Set||$49.95|
|2016 Coin & Chronicles Set—Ronald Reagan||$68.95|
Although the Mint has not yet stated what will be included in the Reagan Coin and Chronicles Set, the item’s presence on this list means we can reasonably assume that there is a plan to include a 30th anniversary Silver Eagle as part of the offering. This would make historical sense, as the American Eagle bullion coin program was instituted in 1986, during the second term of Reagan’s presidency. The Reagan set is also priced noticeably higher ($68.95) than last year’s releases in this series ($57.95), meaning it is likely to include a different range of items than the 2015 sets.
