The U.S. Mint’s Web site is now home to a sequence of historical articles entitled, “Reagan Series: Celebrating the Life of President Ronald Reagan.” The series will continue in four installments, each focusing on a distinct period in the President’s life.
The first entry is named “Family Life,” and focuses on Reagan’s early years; it begins with his childhood and life as a student, and concludes around the time he found success as a radio announcer in the 1930s. Further installments are not yet available, but they will carry the titles “Film & Television Career,” “California Politics & Presidency Race,” and “Presidency & Later Life.”
The new articles will appear as part of the Mint’s promotional campaign for products related to the release of the 2016 Ronald Reagan Presidential $1 Coin, which will be the final issue in the Presidential dollars series. Upcoming release dates for these products are as follows: Nancy Reagan First Spouse Gold Coins and rolls, bags, and boxes of Ronald Reagan $1 coins will be released on July 1, while the Reagan Presidential $1 Coin and First Spouse Medal Set will arrive on July 5. A launch date for the 2016 Ronald Reagan Coin and Chronicles Set has yet to be determined.
