The Scottsdale Mint’s third 2016 issue in its Biblical Silver Coins Series features Adam and Eve and has a mintage limited to 1,499 coins. This series began in 2015 with six coins including “Exodus” and “Ten Commandments,” and continued earlier this year with “Daniel in the Lion’s Den” and “The Last Supper.” These coins are composed of two ounces of 99.9% silver, feature a Brilliant Uncirculated finish, and can be purchased for $169.99 each.
The reverse of the coin features a rendering of Gustave Doré’s 1865 illustration, “Adam and Eve Driven Out of Eden,” in which an angel is seen banishing Adam and Eve from the Garden. The inscription ADAM & EVE is included along the rim.
Each coin has a serial number (1-1499) laser-engraved on its edge. The coins are 7 mm thick and measure 39 mm in diameter.
The obverse features Raphael Maklouf’s portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, with the inscriptions QUEEN ELIZABETH II, 2 OZ 999 FINE SILVER, NIUE, the country of issue, TWO DOLLARS, and 2016 placed along the rim.
Each coin comes packaged in a Bible-themed presentation case with a certificate of authenticity that cites Genesis 3:22-24, which tells of Adam and Eve’s banishment. For more information on this and other coins in the Biblical Silver Coins Series, please visit its product page at APMEX.
