The British Royal Mint has announced that it’s seeking freelance concept artists and illustrators to work with the mint’s Coin Design team. The following is directly from the mint’s release; interested applicants can also read the posting directly on the Royal Mint website.
The Coin Design team are responsible for turning ideas into industry leading products designed for manufacture. They supply some 100 issuing authorities around the world with designs, models and master tools. The successful candidates will be required to satisfy the following:
- Development of concepts with supporting rationale aligned to briefs
- Deliver to deadline
- Have proven experience in the commercial sector
- The ability to draw freehand to a high standard
The chosen artists will be given:
—appropriate education in designing for Coin and Medals
—consideration for UK competitions
Payment based on work requested and level of finish.
