Born in Connecticut and lived there for forty years. My blog name is the State Motto.
The two designs that stand out for me are the (blue) Onion Dome of the Colt Armory (a Hartford landmark visible from the interstate hwy.) and the U.S.S. Nautilus (the first atomic submarine, built in Groton, Connecticut) breaking through the polar ice cap near a polar bear (facing extinction, an appropriate warning about the future use of atomic bombs).

I do not like any of the seven Gerber variable scale designs.
As a Nutmegger my vote is CT-08 Gerber Variable Scale, both for the medal design and the incredibly inspiring CT-based story behind it. A youth overcomes all odds, invents revolutionary engineering device (from pajamas!), and it leads him to develop hundreds of patented follow-on technologies that transform a dozen+ industries and are widely credited for saving much US manufacturing (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joseph_Gerber). It also concerns CT’s place in the historic development of digital technologies, which continue to reshape today’s world. Fittingly, the coin design is clean, crisp, contemporary.
