Selby Ungar (1937-2018), known to the numismatic community as the “King of Carson City Silver Dollars,” passed away on October 9, 2018, at the age of 81. He was renowned for his sincerity and integrity; being a U.S. Air Force veteran, vice president of the National Silver Dollar Round Table, and a trusted coin dealer. Selby will also be sorely missed by those who worked with him at Whitman Publishing, as he co-authored the text Carson City Morgan Dollars with Adam Crum and Jeff Oxman. Whitman Publisher Dennis Tucker wrote:

He is survived by his wife, Bernice, and daughter, Dawn.
