A press release issued by The White House yesterday announced President Obama’s intention to nominate Matthew Rhett Jeppson, current Principal Deputy Director of the U.S. Mint, for Director of the Mint.
Jeppson entered his current position as Principal Deputy Director of the U.S. mint on Jan. 12, 2015. Prior to that, he served twenty-four years in the Marine Corps and went on to assume posts as Associate Administator for Veterans Business Development and Acting Chief Operating Officer at the Small Business Administration.
Jeppson was in the news earlier this week for fostering a successful collaboration between the U.S. Mint and the Center for Women Veterans in an effort to assist former service members in their search for employment.
