The Perth Mint has revealed the reverse design which will appear on the 2013 Australian Koala Silver Bullion coins, which are scheduled to be released worldwide on November 5, 2012.
The reverse design for the 2013 Silver Koala features an adult koala sitting in the fork of a tree. The inscriptions read “Australian Koala” above, with the “2013” date, silver weight, and “999” purity below. The obverse of the coin bears the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, with the legal tender denomination.
The 99.9% pure silver coin series was originally launched in 2007 and has featured a newly created depiction of the popular Australian marsupial each year.
