The Perth Mint has released their gold Proof collector’s range of Kangaroos, which feature an updated reverse side format of imagery and range in weights of five ounces, two ounces, one ounce, 1/4 ounce, 1/10 ounce, and 1/2 gram sizes.
Designed by Neil Hollis for 2022, gold Proof Kangaroos portray the iconic animal bounding across a grassy outback plain with hillocks on the horizon. As well as a stylised inscription, KANGAROO, the design incorporates the Perth Mint’s P mintmark.
The obverse bears Jody Clark’s commonwealth effigy of HM Queen Elizabeth II. The denomination of 2 DOLLARS (1/2-gram), 15 DOLLARS (1/10-ounce), 25 DOLLARS (1/4-ounce), 100 DOLLARS (one-ounce), 200 DOLLARS (two-ounce), or 500 DOLLARS (five-ounce), is shown below the Queen’s likeness.

The $100 and $200 Proof coins have been struck with an extra-deep blank to showcase their superbly detailed design in high relief. The $2 mini-roo half-gram gold coin is housed in a protective acrylic capsule incorporated within a stylish wallet-sized card. The $15, $25 gold coins, and high-relief $100 and $200 coins are housed in a classic display case with a black timber lid and are accompanied by a numbered certificate of authenticity. The $500 gold coin is housed in a gloss polished hard timber display case, accompanied by a numbered certificate of authenticity.
