Avid collectors of coins, medals, and precious-metal bullion who look forward to an exciting winter get-away on the numismatic show circuit have something new to look forward to this year. The Editions Gadoury, marketing and promotional organisers of the Monaco-based “Numismatique” coin auction and show, have announced that this highly anticipated bourse will have a new venue beginning with the 2017 show. The Monte Carlo–based auction and coin show, which takes place over the first two-day weekend in December, has previously been held at the Espace Léo Ferré in the Fontvieille ward of Monte Carlo. The auction and show’s venue will from 2017 be located in a new venue: the Meridien Beach Plaza, one of Monaco’s more upscale beachfront hotels, which is located at 22 Avenue Princesse Grace in Monte Carlo’s La Rousse ward.

The show caters to a wide variety of collectors and offers a great selection of coins, medals, banknotes, and postcards, with coins ranging from ancient right up to the latest commemoratives as well as bullion-related coins and collectables. Collector attendance grows year by year, and as more dealers take part, the selection of coins and other collectable items is steadily improving and becoming more varied. Monaco’s 2017-dated €2 commemorative coin will also go on sale during that weekend and will be available at the bourse. Representatives from Monaco’s own Office des Emissions de Timbres-Poste (OETP) and the Association des Cartophiles de Monaco, who are avid supporters of the Grand Bourse, are both expected to participate in this year’s show.
The Gadoury Auction during this weekend is, for many visitors, an eagerly anticipated event. Many of the coins and medals are of the highest quality, and offerings also include an impressive selection of numismatic rarities and unique pieces.
The date for this year’s annual show takes place from the 2nd to the 3rd December. The event, approaching its 25th year, is sponsored by L’Association Numismatique de Monaco and organized by Editions Gadoury, who are publishers of many well-known French and European numismatic reference catalogues as well as being the organisers of the popular auction connected with the show.
Travel to Nice from most cities in Europe and from the East Coast in the United States is easy and made very convenient with air, rail, and road connections direct to Monte Carlo, which is just steps away from the main entrance of the Nice International Airport. The organisers have advised our office that applications have already been sent to prospective dealers wishing to reserve a table at this year’s show.
