A low mintage is expected to create intense interest among collectors. Special submission instructions must be followed. See the “Submission instructions” section of this article.
The U.S. Mint is releasing the highly anticipated 2019-S Enhanced Reverse Proof Silver Eagle on November 14, 2019. It will be limited to just 30,000 coins, the lowest mintage of an American Silver Eagle to date — even lower than the coveted 1995-W Proof Silver Eagle.
Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) will celebrate the release of this coin with special labels and designations, including NGC’s popular Early Releases and First Releases designations and its distinctive San Francisco label that pays tribute to the city where the coin was struck.
Enhanced Reverse Proof finish is the newest finish for American Silver Eagles; the others are Uncirculated, Enhanced Uncirculated, Proof, and Reverse Proof. The U.S. Mint has struck only one other Silver Eagle in Enhanced Reverse Proof format: The 2019-W Enhanced Reverse Proof Silver Eagle included in the Pride of Two Nations Set that was produced in partnership with the Royal Canadian Mint.
The 2019-S Enhanced Reverse Proof Silver Eagle’s mintage of 30,000 is just a fraction of the 110,000 coins produced of the 2019-W Enhanced Reverse Proof Silver Eagle. The extremely low mintage, along with the special finish and “S” mint mark, are likely to make this coin one of the most desirable Silver Eagles in recent memory, if not the entire series.
