Silver/gold ratio of 35-1 or 40-1 ??????? How can you even jokingly come up with such a rediculous ratio? Our Gov. threw away 9 billion ounces of silver leaving us with approx. 1 billion ounces of above ground silver. This is about 2-3 billion ounces less silver compared with gold. Yes, I've heard of the speculated amount of underground silver which (claims to be greater than silver) which would take it back to the historic ratio of 16-1..... Again I say SPECULATED amount of underground silver...... Until this massive amount of UNDERGROUND silver shows it's face it is about as good as a politicians promises to end a war..... Physical silver or gold DOES NOT EXIST until it has been produced. The gold our government says we have does not exist until we have an audit with random splitting of so called gold bars to insure that we actually have pure 400 oz. bars of gold as opposed to 398 ounces of lead and two ounces of layer over the lead..... SHOW ME!!!!! Don't think this is 1929-1939. We live in a day where the president of our country is no longer the man he once was thought to be several decades ago..... If you take the word of anyone who tells you that there are a greater silver deposits compared to gold than maybe you should have been born during the early 1900's when a president's words: I'll put a chicken in every pot meant something......

Patrick,
I often disagree with your emphasis on this site. That is why I am writing to say that this post is one in which I have full agreement. Your advice to investors is very consistent with the views of professionals in the field. Your emphasis on diversity is a wise approach to investing because investing is always a calculated risk venture.
A good gambler learns to hedge his bets! Your advice bears eloquent homage to that adage.
