The Danmarks Nationalbank has issued (16th August) their new 2018-dated mint sets, which include a presentation design themed for children. The new sets carry on from previous themes of the familiar teddy bear and his family. The children’s coin set unfolds like a picture book and continues the on-going story that has been the central figure in the children’s coin set since 2015. For 2018, the teddy bear and his happy family celebrate their new family member with balloons, stars, and gold-coloured fireworks. The set is also aimed at gift-giving for just the same occasion.
The presentation folder is illustrated by senior graphic designer Jeanette Skov Jensen, who has designed coins and other presentation projects for Danmarks Nationalbank and the Royal Danish Mint. The coin set is composed of Denmark’s currently circulating coins in Brilliant Uncirculated quality. These range from the copper 50-øre; the 1, 2, and 5-kroner cupro-nickel coins with their distinctive holes in their middle; and 10 or 20-kroner coins which are produced in aluminum-bronze.
The coin set is available directly from the offices of the Royal Danish Mint which dispatches circulation, Proof, and precious metal collector coins internationally. The Royal Danish Mint also dispatches for collectors, including the current series of Uncirculated banknotes for both Denmark and the Faeroe Islands, ranging from 50 to 1,000 kroner internationally.
