GLD has 3358 call contracts sitting at strike 117, 6215 call contracts up to and including strike 117 since investors got socked on the July 16th stock expiration. So far GLD has risen much less than other gold stocks today. A comparatively measly amount of calls left after the 16th, but they have shot up around those strikes since then. Strike 115 from 227 to 642, Strike 116 from 451 to 881, Strike 117 from 2878 to 3358. I wonder why SLV only expires at stock options expiry but GLD has more expirations. Is it because there's little or no real silver backing SLV? GLD had only one expiration last month, which did NOT occur at stock options expiry.
