The Perth Mint has started accepting orders for the 2014 Year of the Horse Gold Coins from the Chinese Astrological series. Three different designs are included to represent prosperity, success, and longevity.
People born within the date range of January 31, 2014 to February 18, 2015 are said to be born in the Year of the Horse. Those born under its influence are said to be friendly and open-minded.
The reverse designs for the three coins feature a caricature of a horse with the Chinese character for either “Fu”, “Lu”, or “Shou”, meaning “Prosperity”, “Success”, and “Longevity”. The inscriptions include “1/5 oz 9999 Gold” and the denomination of “$30”.
Each coin is issued as legal tender under the authority of the Government of Tuvalu and struck by the Perth Mint from 1/5 oz of 99.99% pure gold to proof quality.
A three coin set is offered with a product limit of 2,000 units. The “Prosperity” design is also available for sale individually, with an individual product limit of 2,000 from a maximum mintage of 4,000.
The set or individual coin is packaged in a black and timber-inspired display case with customized shipper and numbered certificate of authenticity.
