The Royal Canadian Mint is now selling its 2015 Christmas Ornament Ultra High Relief Silver Coloured Coin, which is available for $129.95 and has a mintage limit of 6,000 pieces. The coin is composed of 30.76 g of 99.99% silver, with a Proof finish and a diameter of 36.15 mm.
The reverse of the coin was designed by Three Degrees Creative Group and features an Ultra High Relief surface that was quadruple struck and hand-polished. The surface and pattern were created to evoke the the appearance of a traditional Christmas tree ornament. Inscribed along the rim is CANADA, 2015, and the coin’s denomination of 25 dollars.
The item’s product page notes that the silver and colored finishes of the reverse were polished to achieve a glitter effect similar to sparkling glass.
The obverse features Susanna Blunt’s portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, with the inscriptions ELIZABETH II and D.G. REGINA placed along the rim.
