Hello again! I am continuing to go through old Coin World columns and other items in connection with writing my autobiography. This week’s message is short and sweet:
In connection with the book, I hope to turn the manuscript over to Whitman Publishing this summer. As you read these words, I am up to the year 2003 and am about to start my wonderful experience as numismatic director of Whitman, which began that year. From then onward I have enjoyed the relationship immensely. It is amazing what Whitman has done under the guidance of its staff, including President Mary Burleson, Publisher Dennis Tucker, and Senior Editor Diana Plattner, not to overlook experts in graphics, sales, and other aspects. Since 2003, over 300 books and editions have been published — far more than any other publisher in the entire history of numismatics worldwide. Not only has this effort been good for Whitman; it has also uplifted the entire hobby.
I am now seeking illustrations to include in the book. Desired are any that you as a reader or researcher may have of my activities from the early 1950s to date, especially “people pictures” of me at conventions or other events, interacting with other people. I am well set on posed pictures, catalog and coin images, and the like. If you have any images of the type I desire, send them by e-mail, in the highest resolution possible, to
I will acknowledge your correspondence.
In the meantime, I wish you and all other readers a very nice numismatic week!

Your quite the prolific writer. Thanks for all your books, reading the United States Mint now. You could have made a separate book on the pre colonial mints (machin mills)in the first few chapters alone though. It’s a hobby that lasts a lifetime. Keep sharp!
