Last week, the Perth Mint announced the reverse design which will appear on the 2014 Australian Koala Silver Bullion Coins. The 99.9% pure silver coin series was launched in 2007 and has featured new reverse design artistry featuring the koala for each year of issuance.
The reverse design for the upcoming 2014 Silver Koala features a close up view of an adult koala. A spray of gum leaves also appears at the base. The inscription “Australian Koala” appears above, with the 2014 year date and precious metal weight and fineness indicated below. The Perth Mint’s “P” mint mark is also incorporated.
The obverse design of the coin carries the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, along with an inscription of the legal tender denomination of the coin.
