Delaware is the first state to be highlighted in the American Innovation $1 Coin Program, and on September 19 at 12 noon (ET), the Mint will release four different product options for the coin. The Delaware coin features Annie Jump Cannon, an internationally renowned astronomer born in Delaware. Among the four options are a 25-coin roll (P and D) and a 100-coin bag (P and D). The 25-coin rolls are priced at $32.95 while the 100-coin bags are priced at $111.95. There are no mintage, product, or household order limits. Each of the coins included in these products possesses an Uncirculated finish, and three more states will be released in 2019.
According to the Mint’s website, the obverse “features a dramatic representation of the Statue of Liberty in profile with the inscriptions IN GOD WE TRUST and $1. The design also includes a privy mark of a stylized gear, representing industry and innovation.”
The reverse, according to the Mint’s website, “features a silhouette of Annie Jump Cannon against the night sky, with a number of stars visible. Inscriptions are UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, ANNIE JUMP CANNON, CLASSIFYING THE STARS, and DELAWARE.”
The edge possesses the incused inscription E PLURIBUS UNUM, the year 2019, and either a “P” or “D” mint mark.
