The Mint’s 2018 American Eagle one-ounce gold Uncirculated coin (product code 18EH) will go on sale July 12, 2018, at 12 noon (ET). The coin, minted at the West Point Mint, features the classic Lady Liberty design in 22-karat gold. The 2018 American Gold Eagle possesses a mintage and product limit of 10,000 each and no household order limit. This year’s coin comes packaged in a new burgundy-colored presentation case as well. Each coin possesses a reeded edge and bears the “W” mint mark of the West Point Mint.

The obverse features a full-length depiction of Liberty designed by Augustus Saint-Gaudens. Liberty is seen holding an olive branch in her left hand and a torch in her right. The word LIBERTY is displayed at the top while the year of issue, 2018, is present in the lower-right quadrant.
The reverse features a male eagle carrying an olive branch toward a nest of a female eagle and their eaglets. Inscriptions include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, and IN GOD WE TRUST. The denomination, 50 DOLLARS, and 1 OZ. FINE GOLD are displayed along the bottom.
