Today, November 30, the U.S. Mint released its rolls and bags of the new 2015 Saratoga National Historical Park ATB quarter.
The coins can be purchased for $18.95 in a single 40-coin roll (minted in San Francisco); for $32.95 as two 40-coin rolls (minted in Philadelphia and Denver, respectively); for $34.95 as a 100-coin bag (buyers can choose from the above mint facilities); or for $46.95 as a three 40-coin roll set, including one roll each from the San Francisco, Philadelphia, and Denver mints. Coins struck at the San Francisco mint will not be released into circulation.
The Saratoga National Historical Park quarter is the fifth and final 2015 release for the America the Beautiful series. The reverse of the quarter features a depiction of British General John Burgoyne’s surrender to American General Horatio Gates at the Battle of Saratoga in the fall of 1777. Inscribed in the field beside the image is BRITISH SURRENDER 1777, with SARATOGA, NEW YORK, 2015, and E PLURIBUS UNUM placed along the rim.
The obverse features John Flanagan’s portrait of George Washington, with the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, QUARTER DOLLAR, and a mint mark.
As noted on Mint News Blog, the Mint has also begun accepting its authorized buyers’ orders for the Saratoga 5 oz. bullion coin. Other Saratoga collector products, including the 2015 Saratoga Quarter 3-coin Set and the 2015 Saratoga five-ounce silver Uncirculated Coin, will be released this week as well.
