2009 Professional Life Penny Coin Exchange Locations

Today, the third redesigned 2009 Lincoln Cent featuring the "Professional Life" design will be released into circulation. The public will have the opportunity to exchange currency for rolls of the newly minted pennies at three different locations.

2009 Professional Life Lincoln Cent

The 2009 Professional Life Cent features a young Abraham Lincoln in professional attire standing before the Illinois State Capitol. This reverse was designed by Joel Iskowitz and sculpted by Don Everhart. The obverse of the coin continues to bear the likeness of Lincoln that has been used since 1909.

The first coin exchange location will be in Springfield, Illinois, at the site of the official launch ceremony. Following the ceremony, attendees will be allowed to exchange a minimum of two rolls up to a maximum of six rolls of the new Professional Life Cents. The launch ceremony takes place at 10:00 AM CT at the Old State Capitol, 5th & Adams Streets, Springfield, IL 62701.

Two additional coin exchange locations will be available in Washington, DC. The locations are US Mint Headquarters, 801 9th Street NW, Washington, DC 20220 and Union Station, 50 Massachusetts Avenue NE, Washington DC 20002. The coin exchanges will be held from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM ET, or while supplies last. Exchange limits have also been set at a minimum of two rolls and a maximum of six rolls.

The coin exchange locations allow an even exchange of currency for coins without any premiums. All limits are subject to change throughout the day.
